Joel Hodgson to host MST3K Turkey Day Marathon on November 28th

When I was in high school, my friends Eric and Jamie introduced me to a little 2-hour program on Comedy Central called Mystery Science Theater 3000.  I hadn’t fully embraced geek culture yet, so I was a little skeptical that a show 2 hours in length could capture my attention as a young man.  Oh, how ignorant I was.

In college, I made some very good friends who also shared a love for MST3K, and we would often spend many a late night playing cards, eating horribly bad-for-you food, and watching Joel, Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo, and the rest of the crew cut it up over some of the best worst movies known to mankind.  My love of editorializing in real time was born.

Today, I have great news that will make many MST3K fans rejoice.  Partly in celebration of the show’s 25th anniversary, Joel Hodgson (on Twitter @JoelGHodgson), creator, writer, and star of the show, will be hosting a Thanksgiving Day tradition — a Mystery Science Theater 3000 marathon, taking place exclusively at MST3KTurkeyDay.com.

The tradition begins on Tuesday, November 26th, with a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) event, hosted by Hodgson, that begins at 1:00 pm Eastern/4:00 pm Pacific, and runs for 2 hours.

And right now, you can get in on the fun!  Tweet @JoelGHodgson with the hashtag #MST3K or #MST3kTurkeyDay with your favorite MST3K episodes that you’d like to see during the marathon.  Then on Thursday, November 28th, Thanksgiving Day will be made complete with a 6-episode MST3K marathon, beginning at 12:00 noon Eastern/9:00 am Pacific.  You can even join in the online commentary along with Joel on Twitter with the hashtag #MST3K.
