What I like about this blog’s readers March 6, 2009

Did you notice on the “Don’t make over $250,000” post that one commenter took issue with just about everybody else, defending the administration’s economic policy? How he happened to mention that he was an inventor pursuing a patent? Whereupon, instead of harshly vilifying him as would happen on virtually every other blog, some of the very people he was arguing with who happened to have expertise in patent law started helping him?

Stewart keeps adding bells and whistles to the blog and fixing problems. Sorry about that Google ad with a picture of bikini-clad Russian mail-order brides! That’s what Google will send us for talking about “Russians” and ‘marriage.” We may still get off-the-wall ads like that–for which I apologize in advance–but no more pictures. Most of the changes are behind the scenes. For example, I can now write posts and schedule them to appear on future dates, meaning that when I’m on the road and can’t compute, the blog can still have fresh material every weekday.

So thanks again for your visits to this blog, for the high level of discourse that generally characterizes the comments, and for being part of what has become something of a virtual community.
