Conclusion from earlier posts about St. Nicholas: To combat the secularization of Christmas, we should co-opt Santa Claus, re-identifying him as St. Nicholas, a great advocate for the deity of Christ and one of the authors of the Nicene Creed. We should recite, post, and sing the creed as a Christmas observance. Where the atheists put up their placards, Christians put up the Nicene Creed. We should resacralize Santa, making him as controversial and Christ-centered as the Nativity Scene.
Indeed, what is more Christmasy than the creed?:
I believe in. . .one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of His Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made;
who for us men and for our salvation
