We blogged about "quiet quitting," in which workers do the least they can get by with.  It turns out that this is an even bigger problem in China, where it has become a generational craze. They call it "lying flat." And add "letting it rot": When facing something difficult or a problem that needs attention, doing nothing about it.

Marijuana in the 60's had a THC level of just 2%. Breeders raised that to as much as 20%. But the products sold legally in cannabis dispensaries today--to be vaped, eaten, or drunk--can have a potency of up to 95%. At that level, cannabis becomes a psychosis-causing drug that can be more dangerous than meth or heroin. And states are legalizing cannabis with no attention to potency or dosages.

"You keep using that word," said Inigo Montoya in Princess Bride. "I do not think it means what you think it means." The word they were referring to was "inconceivable."  The statement also applies to the word "fascism." But despite the political rhetoric, those who believe in small, limited government cannot be fascists.

August 24 was the 450th anniversary of the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, in which as many as 30,000 Protestants were slaughtered because of their faith.
