How One Person Put Grace into Action

How One Person Put Grace into Action December 8, 2015

I am so excited that People of the Second Chance has decided to share Sarah’s story about taking flowers to Planned Parenthood!

I was changed by the bold actions of my gracious friend. She told me, “unconditional love always ignites restoration.” In her bold act I am reminded that I can value and appreciate even those with whom I strongly disagree. It’s not enough to just encourage “random acts of kindness,” or just being nice to each other, but we must also love and step toward the other side, no matter who they might be.

If you’re a POTSC’er and you’re new to my blog or you haven’t been here since I posted my story of childhood abuse for the Labels Lie campaign, welcome! If you’re here from The Good News Network, welcome back!

I write about finding Christ in the midst of mental illness, the struggles with childhood trauma and the ordinary, powerful ways God heals us. You may also hear me complain about how it sucks to be a Christian right now, but how I’m doing it anyway.

For me, this faith journey is not about being on the left or right or judging the actions of others.  It’s about taking my story and using it to positively impact others with similar struggles.  It’s about giving all those rotten things in life meaning, and eventually a purpose.
