Forget Starbucks, Patriot Depot’s Got Christmas Covered

Forget Starbucks, Patriot Depot’s Got Christmas Covered December 18, 2015

Apparently Starbucks employees aren’t allowed to wish customers “Merry Christmas.” And, while some of their coffee is still marketed as its “Christmas blend,” most are now called “holiday” blends.

Prior to Thanksgiving, Starbucks began serving its exorbitantly overpriced coffee in a plain red cup to emphasize its non recognition of one of the most important Christian holidays of the year. Soon after posts on Facebook went viral: “Starbucks REMOVED CHRISTMAS from their cups because they hate Jesus.”

Interestingly, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump suggested boycotting Starbucks, remarking that he might not renew its lease in Trump Towers. And if he became president, he said, “We’re all going to be saying Merry Christmas again, that I can tell you.” Another presidential candidate, Dr. Ben Carson also weighed in.

And Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) introduced House Resolution 564 to protect the holiday of Christmas, concerned by the “troubling effort by some in America” to eliminate “any and all Christmas celebrations and traditions from the public arena.” In his official statement, Lamborn said:

“Christmas is a wonderful time of year when a majority of Americans take time to remember the humble birth of Jesus Christ on a holy night more than 2,000 years ago. The message of Christmas is one of love, hope, and peace. It is a message that our country and this world needs more than ever in the midst of ever increasing conflict and chaos.”

However, for the many people who don’t drink Starbucks coffee, who would like to drink coffee and celebrate the Christmas spirit, Patriot Depot (PatriotDepot.com) designed just the cup.

In addition to buying “It’s Okay to Say Merry Christmas” paper cups, customers can also buy Thrasher Coffee Christmas Blend, a full 16-ounce package of medium-dark roast coffee with “notes of sweet dates and bittersweet chocolate with a graham cracker finish.” Cups are sold individually or in packs of 5, 10, and 20 cups.

Celebrating Christmas can be as simple as enjoying a hot cup of coffee by the fire. It doesn’t have to be political or politically incorrect. PatriotDepot.com provided a clever alternative so that coffee drinkers on the go don’t even need to visit a Starbucks.

Or say anything, because the cup says it all.
