“You have not cheated or oppressed us,” they replied. “You have not taken anything from anyone’s hand.” -1 Samuel 12:4
Samuel had led Israel for years. At the end of his life, he said that if he had cheated anyone or taken from them, to let him know so he could make it right.
How many people asked for restitution?
None.
Samuel walked in integrity, day in, day out, for a lifetime. He did not end with riches and wealth, but he ended with great integrity.
In the end, our goal should be to live with the integrity of Samuel, knowing that a life well lived is the best investment we can make.
