They were helped in fighting them, and God delivered the Hagrites and all their allies into their hands, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him. -1 Chronicles 5:20
When all else fails, cry out to God. Better yet, before all else fails, cry out to God. In the list of family names that make up the first chapters of 1 Chronicles, one of the few breaks is a scene that mentions the victory of the Hagrites. Why? Because they called out to God in battle and he answered them with victory.
Even more, they trusted in him. It’s one thing to ask God for help; it’s quite another to actually trust in him to do it.
Their trust appears to have extended beyond this battle as well. The Hagrites are not one of the all-stars of the Bible with John, Jesus, Moses, or Esther, but they have a few lines in their honor for one reason–they prayers.
If you’re going to known for one thing in this life, why not let it be your prayers to God?
