Exodus 37: Details

Exodus 37: Details 2012-05-01T09:10:47-04:00

“They also made the sacred anointing oil and the pure, fragrant incense —the work of a perfumer.” -Exodus 37:29

It has often been said the devil is in the details. But the opposite is actually true; God is in the details. From the creation of the universe to knowing the number of hairs on your head, God knows every detail about every aspect around us.

This is also made clear in Exodus 37. The entire chapter consists of instructions and the design of the ark, table, and other items for the tabernacle, including perfume. At first glance, it appears mundane. It’s not. God gave exact details so his people would worship him according to his will, not theirs.

We often groan about the many details we face in a day, but God both knows them and includes them as part of his plan for our lives. Let’s not complain about the little things in life; let’s use them as an opportunity to worship God–to show gratitude to our perfect heavenly Father.
