Numbers 16: God Chooses

Numbers 16: God Chooses

“The man the Lord chooses will be the one who is holy.” -Numbers 16:7

You can achieve what the mind can conceive. The power is in you. You can be anything you want to be. Set big goals and accomplish them. Plan your attack and attack your plan. Go for it. Seize the day.

We hear these kinds of motivational phrases all the time. We are told we can be anything and do anything we set our mind to. But God clearly operates differently from our human understanding. In his plan, it’s his will that wins. “The man the Lord chooses will be the one who is holy.” We can work on being more spiritual all day and night, but God must ultimately determine how far we go and what we accomplish.

Rather than complain it’s not fair, our goal must be to submit our lives to his plan. His will is much better than anything we can create. He is the Creator of the universe, after all. If God chooses, let us choose him today. Let us lay down our small dreams to fulfill his dream for our lives.
