Momentum

Momentum February 4, 2014

That’s why many fail–because they don’t get started–they don’t go. They don’t overcome inertia. They don’t begin. — W Clement Stone

Whatever it is you intend to do, begin it. Take that first small step. Put momentum on your side.

There’s no need to be intimidated by the size of the job to be done. Just take that first small step. Just begin. Begin, get the momentum established, and then let that momentum carry you along.

You’re always under the influence of one kind of momentum or another. Doing nothing has its own powerful momentum. A body at rest will tend to stay at rest. That’s Newton’s First Law of Motion. According to the very same law, it is also true that a body in motion will stay in motion.

The key is to begin. By any means necessary, at whatever level possible, begin. Once you’re started, it can actually be easier to keep going than it is to stop.

Decide where you wish to go. Point yourself in that direction. Begin, and jump aboard the momentum as it continues to carry you forward.
