it’s a little long 2022-08-30T16:58:06-04:00

It’s a little long. This is a blend of fiction, historical fiction that we all are reeled in by, and plain hyperbole. I guess if Jesus had a TikTok and I knew how to access his TikTok and where he was TikTalking, you’d better believe I’d be one of his followers. I believe he was hilarious at times, but times have changed again. He is serious in modern art, could win a prize for congeniality, but I have got to still believe so much of what Jesus says has to be tongue in cheek; am I saying that right?

I know a little because I’m kind of in communications too. However, this Jesus is beyond me and I wonder if He isn’t something like Batman training his entourage of at least 70 evangelists at one point to be incognito do-gooders throughout the land.

It’s not blasphemy to be called “little-Christs;” it’s transliteration of an Antiochian term.

Mateo Ingle and Ashley Wiitala visited us, no secret, and she doesn’t have Facebook where you can fill in some of the openings of this story. At least she told me such, so I don’t dig.

They both may have access to my Spotify though, because she usually says something like, “I see you’re working so much, and others may not. Why don’t leave the music to us?” In ongoing communications, she has asked a few times “How do you like the list?”

It’s a little long, like the song that Mateo says is Brandon Heath’s own remake of his own song Give Me Your Eyes.

I do not feel quite at ease yet freely offering everything they share with me. I generally trust them and answer their questions.

I have taken the liberty to edit this post, because the last couple points were concerning, more like chapters.

Did you get my previous communique?

this ain’t no picnic

There was a legit flat brim hat today among cowboy/girl hats at some place next to the Buckle with square toed Laredos. There was a nearly matching Fedora at H&M. The Buckle has a really cool flat brim like my Yosemite Eddie Bros. I’d put a new band on it though. It’s got a reverse slope too, but I don’t know.

Waffle fries to burn some decent carbs, the Chill list of course, car settings enabled, okay be safe, and we’re off; or are we? You’re forgetting me. Of course I’m on my way. Water is needed if one is waiting outside near the polling station, where futbol games are sometimes seen on the tennis court: maybe pH balanced so clorine or floride isn’t messing with you.

It’s only about 20 minutes or so through some areas of the parkway, not too much wildlife every time. At one point there were about 7 of us including the tourguide’s crew I guess, maybe a priest jotting down notes in a journal. A lady kept asking, “Does it look manmade to you Jared?” I don’t know much about Moleskine. He was quiet on the vista point jotting notes while I scanned the view across the valley (the fields at home) left to right slowly, no filters, no camera. Some of them continued to chat, and I overheard, “. . . and you can take pictures.” Then when I turned around to rejoin the group, with a knowing glance I saw him say, “Yep.”

At the shared meal, there was no Monkfruit, humph. Someone asked, “Where’s the salt.” After further chatter, someone said, “Oh here it is.”

at the cafe, better leave the music to us

Outside work can be done plenty of places, and I have pointed out Orthodox churches in the region as well as Catholic to those who are truly searching from those faiths.

I even had quiet discussions with the crew at Mill Mountain and Blue Donkey.

One person said when I was wondering about some people at a table, “Oh don’t worry about them. They’re just continuing to make wedding preparations.”

Another couple bought me what I used to call the cowboy coffee at a shop adjacent to Mill Mountain where they serve Baklava. They took my order, and translated to the clerk exactly. We didn’t have to discuss the ancient Near East or throw labels around. The three of us had a connection, seemingly catching the clerk off guard. Then we strolled around uptown, within sight of the Wells Fargo highrise, but it was nite and we had no business there. It was good to discover some common grounds for a few paces. What does it matter what we discussed?

I appreciate the opportunity to walk alongside such people, even if we’re strolling down along the waterway toward Speedway. Some Speedways do not sell spirits, so it’s a decent idea for churchy people to buy giftcards from there for almsgiving.

I’ve heard it all before, but it kind of does matter to me that another brother would say something like, “Yeah, it was good to have church with them,” after they left the table next to us at Starbucks, when he was really questioning my views on the baptism in the Holy Spirit. I didn’t even realize.

On a related note | I’m really not as good at outdoor live work as other Christian bands, especially in recent years. These newer bands are beyond me in communications meaning multiple things at once. In a way they remind me of people who can keep their four eyes on the far away green shores or the other country, a demo once considered for the epic Dawn Treader.
