A mom puts her son to sleep.  At the door, she stops.  Through the darkness, she watches his chest rise up and down.  Sitting down to rest for a moment, she dreams of tomorrow and the tomorrow after that.  Sleep comes quickly.  Morning brings a terrible feeling.  Rushing in to check on her son/sun, she realizes that his chest is stagnant. The little boy never woke up.

With not a second to spare, the waiter arrives at work.  He recognizes the customers at his first table.  They’re always assholes.  After they provide the most complicated order imaginable…they demand it fast.  The kitchen is running slow and nothing is going to move fast today.  After multiple apologies, anger has turned to rage.  In the midst of it all, the waiter still goes back to the table and seeks to apologize one more time.  Before he could even get a word out of his mouth, one of the customers stood up and shot him dead.

Why?

He had all of his life before him.  Prior days had been busy.  Exhaustion was setting in.  That night, he just wanted to chill our and have some fun.  The entire night went well…until it didn’t.  He was just standing there in his front yard.  For reasons unknown, a car drove up…with a gun hanging out the window.  Shots started flying.  Before the smoke cleared, he was dead.
