Irrelevance in Print: The Dallas Morning News

“Revenues are down.”  Anytime you here that phrase, you know some shit is about to go down.  For 43 people at the Dallas Morning News earlier today, those words were followed by, “we’re going to have to lay you off.” The first question that should have erupted from the lips of the gathered should have been, “You mean to tell me that our top executives have received hefty pay raises and we’re getting laid off?”  Injustice cycles around that place like a tornado.  It seems to happen so fast that most people don’t realize what hit them…or what they hit.  I will never forget their language after Dominique Alexander and I led the protest before the July 7, 2016 shooting.  Clever phrasing consistently insinuated that we were responsible for what happened.  One sticks out more than all others, “They led police into an ambush.”  I don’t know that I will ever be able to forgive them for that shit.  Then and now we have stood on the side of justice…they remain on the side of oppression.  From lynching to segregation to discrimination to marginalizing policies, they have endorsed it all throughout their history.  The sins of the white racist fathers have definitely been passed down to present generations.  Of course, they have said that they are long past such things.  They are not.  They are haunted by souls past and they don’t even know what a soul is.  I don’t see God is not mocked.  Karma is real. You can’t work for the Devil and not expect to get burned.  However you want to describe it all…we do know one thing…less people are reading the Morning News…and that’s a good thing.  Irrelevant propaganda has no place in a just society. Remember…God saves people not institutions.  So, I’m going to pray for the demise of the Morning News so that the people might be saved.

Amen.
