The Global Leadership Summit: It’s About Building Intentional People

focused intention

The other big take-a-way that almost every speaker hit on was:

Focused intention trumps a busy to-do list any day.

Anyone can be busy. But a good leader — an effective one — will work to focus their energies not just on doing the things that are urgent today, but the things that are important for tomorrow. Leading is about moving a person from where they are to where they want to be, and in order to do that, it’s important to always have an eye that looks beyond this minute’s minutia and to tomorrow.

Any kind of success takes intention. John Maxwell said yesterday, “Everyone has uphill goals and downhill habits!” and the only way to actually move uphill toward your goals is to change those habits. That takes intentionality and fierce determination.
