EndNote Users, Can You Help?

I’m a Luddite at times and am totally unaware of what everyone else is using, and evidently one of those applications/programs everyone is using is EndNote. A friend told me about it, said I really need to get it, and after he told me what it did — automatically programming footnotes and composing bibliography — you don’t need to ask how long the Bibliographies for some of my books have taken me — I bought it.

That’s the easy part. I’ve got a problem. When I add a footnote (here an endnote, but I don’t think it matters) into MSWord, for some reason there is a hard return (to the next line) and a tab added so that a footnote looks like the first image, and I can’t add a page number until the next line. The second image is the formatting information. I’m using “Soc Biblical Studies – notes.” Anyone have any idea what is going on or what I can do?
