I took a ride out to the country yesterday. I’ve been working hard finishing up a manuscript. (YAY!!!)
The thing about writing is that it’s such a solitary activity — kind of like farming.
The other thing about writing is that you have to sit still to do it. When I’ve finished a book, I need
to let the wind blow through my hair. I need to smell the sun. I need to move.
So when Simply Darlene (aka A Simple Country Girl) invited me out for lunch, I accepted her gracious invite.
I found the right road but figured I had the wrong house.
The Simple Country Girl lives by her title.
There are good books, good food, and lazy dogs.
And the sweetness that comes from swapping stories, which is a totally different way to spend a day than writing them. There’s nothing like a day in the country to clear a girl’s head.
