Mountain Dew Dumplings

Mountain Dew Dumplings

This has become a family favorite since our sweet friends the Baldwins shared it with us. And what could make any southern treat better than a good ole’ Mountain Dew?

Mountain Dew Dumplings

Ingredients:

Three cans of crescent rolls. The kind that the kids like to pop open.

Six Small Granny Smith apples. Has to be Granny Smith, any others are too sweet.

One-and-half sticks butter. I know. I know. I’m sorry.

Two cups of sugar. See above for apology.

One tlb. cinnamon.

One can of Mountain Dew. Not Diet. The hard kind.

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325. Spray a 9×13 pan. Peel and core apples. Place approximately a fourth of an apple in the corner of the crescent roll and roll it up. Place in pan. Do that until all the sliced apples are wrapped.

In sauce pan, melt the sugar, butter & cinnamon. Pour mixture over dumplings. Pour a Mountain Dew over all of that.  Bake for 45 minutes at 325. Serve warm with cool whip or vanilla ice cream. Or nekkid, if you prefer.

If you feel like you are going to lapse into a coma, Do Not call 9-11.
