Arkansas priest Father Stephen Gadberry faced down the “American Ninja Warrior” obstacle course at the Dallas Qualifiers on the Season 10 premiere, which aired Wednesday, May 30, on NBC, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
SPOILER ALERT!
The Air Force veteran, CrossFit trainer and pastor for two Arkansas parishes conquered two obstacles, but the third didn’t prove the charm.
From a post at American Ninja Warrior Nation:
- Father Stephen Gadberry started out the season. He was slow but steady on the Floating Steps and barely survived the dismount from the Catch and Release. It was a bad trampoline bounce on the third obstacle that ended his run.
Here’s a local news report:
But, Father Gadberry’s faith remains strong and his spirit undaunted — as he said on his Instagram feed:
Fr. Gadberry’s pal, Sean Bryan, a k a the “Papal Ninja,” one of the most popular and successful “American Ninja Warrior” athletes, encouraged his fellow Catholic to try the “Ninja” course, and was there to cheer him on.
Bryan competes in next week’s episode. Here’s one of a pair of video interviews I did with him for Family Theater Productions, shot last summer in Santa Monica, California. Note his custom gear, which is for sale.
Stay strong in the Faith — and just plain strong!
