“The living water is a body. We must clothe the living Human Being. If someone is immersed in this water, they shed their old clothes to put on the new.
“A horse begets a horse, a human begets a human, and a god begets a god. The union of Lover and Beloved begets children born in the Bridal Chamber.
“As long as the Law remains, no Jew can be born of a Greek, yet Christians come from Jews. There is yet another race animated by the Breath. These are the true Human Beings, the Sons of Man, the Sons (and Daughters) of the Son. These true Humans are called to love in the world. Wherever they are, they remain the children of the Bridal Chamber.
“In this world, union is between male and female, the place of power and weakness. In the eternal age, the union is like something else, but we refer to them by the same names. But there exist forms of union higher than any that can be spoken, stronger than the greatest forces, and with the power that is their destiny. Those who live this are no longer separated. They are not two different things, but they’re both the same thing.
“Isn’t it necessary for everyone who has everything to know themselves completely? Some who don’t know themselves won’t be able to enjoy what they have, but those who’ve come to understand themselves will enjoy everything. Realization makes a Human Being impalpable and invisible. If they were visible, people would enclose them within the bounds of the visible. To know the grace of true communion with God, one must be clothed with pure light. In this light, we can see Divine light.” (The Gospel of Philip, vs. 101-106)
Whenever we undergo transformation, our entire environment shifts. Nothing stays the same. As new wine requires a new wine skin, our inner reality impacts the outer reality. In the same way, it is not the caterpillar that emerges from the chrysalis and spreads its wings to fly. It is an entirely new creature with radically different features and abilities.

As theologian David Bentley Hart says, “God became human so that humans should become God. Only the God who is always already human can become human. Only a humanity that is always already divine can become God.” In other words, the Incarnation is evidence that God was always human, and that humans were always God. There is no separation, and there never could be. The children are always like their parents. We are the children of God, therefore, what else can we be but Gods as well?

The Law is the Tree of Separation that divides us into these false categories of Jew or Gentile, Slave or Free, Male or Female, etc. But we are all the Sons of God. We are all “true Human Beings” who bear the image of God, our Father, and this is our calling: “These true Humans are called to love in the world. Wherever they are, they remain the children of the Bridal Chamber.”
In the world we are born into, marriage is a symbol of uniting two distinct opposites: Male and Female. But this is a distortion of reality. The Bridal Chamber is where this reality is fully experienced and known in ways that transcend our ability to express verbally.
“But there exist forms of union higher than any that can be spoken, stronger than the greatest forces, and with the power that is their destiny. Those who live this are no longer separated. They are not two different things, but they’re both the same thing.”
While this is the reality, not everyone is awakened to it. This means that some of those who are already One with the Divine and with all things do not realize it, and therefore they cannot fully enjoy this as they were meant to:
“Some who don’t know themselves won’t be able to enjoy what they have, but those who’ve come to understand themselves will enjoy everything.”
However, once we are awakened to this glorious reality of shared Divinity and share Humanity, we become estranged from those around us who do not yet see the truth. People can sense that there is something different about those who see reality this way, but they don’t understand what is happening. To those who are still living by the fruit of the Tree of Separation, our differences can only be interpreted as a threat. We become “Them” simply because they can only perceive our differences and not our similarities. If we are not like them, we cannot be part of their “Us” group, and therefore, we must be one of “Them.”
“Realization makes a Human Being impalpable and invisible. If they were visible, people would enclose them within the bounds of the visible. To know the grace of true communion with God, one must be clothed with pure light. In this light, we can see Divine light.”
Once we “know the grace of true communion with God,” and we become “clothed with pure light…we can see Divine light” in everyone and everything.
