My Magnum Opus Book, “The Restitution,” Is Republished

My Magnum Opus Book, “The Restitution,” Is Republished April 8, 2023

My magnum opus, about the identity of Jesus, was published in 2008 with the title The Restitution of Jesus Christ and the pseudonym Servetus the Evangelical. I republished it yesterday with a new title, The Restitution: Biblical Proof Jesus Is NOT God. I also abandoned the pseudonym. And the book has a new front cover image. The book is 566 pp.

This book is available at amazon.com now only in paperback for $35. You can see it and buy it by clicking on the above new title. It is not a 2nd edition since the text is unchanged except typos have been corrected. Copyright regulations allow authors to change a book title and its cover without declaring it a 2nd edition if they only fix typos in the text. The book will soon be available as an eBook and in hard cover.

I was a Trinitarian Christian for 22 years and then read myself out of that in the Bible. It threw me into a deep study about whether or not Jesus is God. On my blog you can see a list of about 150 condensed posts about this by clicking on “Christology” in the menu.

I estimate that in a period of 28 years, from the time I first questioned that Jesus is God, in 1980, to the time I published my book about it in 2008, I read about 1,000 books about the identity of Jesus. And I looked at perhaps more commentaries in many libraries as I examined the critical biblical texts that Christians have cited in support of their dogma that Jesus is God. So, the book is comprehensive, including 100 pages of the history of the development of church christology. And the book is very biblically in-depth. Yet it is accessible to general readers by having no technical language, and Hebrew and Greek words are transliterated. Finally, the book is well documented by citing the writings of over 400 scholars.

If you are a Christian, and you care about what you have been taught about Jesus’ identity, how can you not buy this book after reading the following endorsements of it?

“A mortal wound to the doctrine of the Trinity…. a towering work that will stand for a long time to come.” Dr. James Tabor, Chair of Religious Studies, University of North Carolina at Charlotte

“Needs to be read by every pastor in the land…. A tour de force … extensive documentation.” Sir Anthony Buzzard, Professor emeritus of New Testament, Atlanta Bible College

“No one can read this book without being challenged.” Dr. Scot McKnight, Professor of New Testament, Northern Seminary near Chicago

“The approach is thorough and systematic, but the style is very readable. . . . it’s the best Unitarian apologetic on the market.” David Burke, Pastor-Teacher, Australia

“My jaw dropped in surprise after seeing the absolutely outstanding scholarship displayed in this book. . . . This was a book that I have been craving for so long and kept telling myself that needed to be written.” Bassam Zawadi, Muslim apologist, Saudi Arabia
