Epstein Said Trump Was His “Best Friend”
President Donald Trump golf’s his ball a lot while waffling about his former friend Jeffrey Epstein and investigative files about his criminal activity regarding sex with minors and sex trafficking. In 2008, Epstein served months in the clinker for sexual crimes with minor girls. In 2019, he was waiting in a New York City jail for a trial to begin accusing him of sex trafficking. Then he was found dead in there from hanging.
Earlier that year, Epstein was recorded in a video saying Donald Trump had been his “best friend” for the past “ten years.” They had indeed been good friends way before that, with photos showing them together.
Trump Distanced Himself from Epstein
During Trump’s third campaign for the presidency in 2017, which he won, he had repeatedly distanced himself from his previous friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. He said what MAGA (the acronym for his political supporters) wanted him to say, that if elected president again he would release what had been called “the Epstein Files.” It was information about investigation of Epstein held by the FBI and Department of Justice as a result of court cases. It was a big promise that was important to MAGA. And many MAGA folks believed Epstein did not commit suicide, so they wanted the truth to made known about that as well.
MAGA Expected Bondi to Release Epstein Files
Weeks after Trump retook the White House this year, his new Attorney General Pam Bondi said to the media, which was video-taped, that the Epstein files were on her desk ready for her review, as if she would soon release them to the public after the necessary redactions. It was not clear if she meant them generally or more particularly about a supposed and so-called “client list” Epstein had. That would have included wealthy clients to whom Epstein provided females for having sex. That is what Democrat members of Congress and many MAGA people want most to be made known. I haven’t seen in the media that there is a noticeable contingent of MAGA evangelicals who were quite responsible for Trump gaining the White House this time who are among those calling for release of the Epstein files.
That supposed client list, if it exists, has wealthy, important people on it, some of whom likely do not want that to be made known. Thus, I think it’s pretty obvious that some of them would have contacted Trump and made their wishes about it known to him. To me, if Epstein was murdered, as it seems because he did not have that kind of profile, it was a hired hit job with an order that had to come down from the top, which means President Donald Trump. Thus, whether Trump’s name is on the supposed “client list,” as Elon Musk insisted last week, Trump may have had several people pressuring him to not make that list known.
Trump then could have used that as leverage over possible men on the supposed list. That is, Trump the deal maker could have made deals involving financial contributions to him or his political platform in exchange for having Epstein murdered. The reason I’m mentioning this provocative possibility is Trump is seriously endangering his political base in telling all to forget dead man Jeffrey Epstein. Why would Trump take this risk unless he personally has something to hide that may not be about him on that list.
But Bondi did not release those files as MAGA had expected. And Trump yesterday got angry about being questioned about it, telling MAGA to forget about it. But Mike Johnson, Republican Speaker of the House and Trump’s right-hand Congressman, muffled his voice when he declared to the media yesterday that the Epstein files exist and that they should be made available to the public. Trump didn’t like that, and Johnson afterwards started backtracking about it.
But some other Republican members of Congress who have supported Trump are strongly calling for the Epstein files to be released. A bill is before Congress to make this happen. It would require only a majority vote to pass.
Trump’s Disavows MAGA Calling for Files Release
Trump then said today concerning to such politicians, “They are not my supporters, and I don’t want them.” This a huge flashpoint for MAGA. Trump has never disavowed his political supporters. This looks to me like the beginning of Trump having a huge fall within in his own political party.
