Donald Trump Scolds the United Nations

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York city yesterday for an hour, touting himself and chastises the UN and many member nations as heads of state looked in shock and silence. Perhaps his main attack was about climate change, saying, “If you don’t get away from this green scam, your country is going to fail.” Donald Trump, who thumbs his nose at detail and science in general, has always trashed the idea that humans are contributing to the rise in global temperatures since the inauguration of the Industrial Revolution primarily through the burning of fossil fuels.

Trump Touts Himself Like Mussolini Did

Trump then explained, “And I’m really good at predicting things, you know.” He cited his presidential campaign slogan of braggadocio, which was emblazoned on red caps, “Trump Was Right About Everything.” That is reminiscent of Italy’s dictator Benito Mussolini, who with Germany’s Adolf Hitler helped throw the world into WWII. Mussolini’s slogan was, “Mussolini is always right.”

Here was Trump’s full remark about this yesterday in his UN speech: “I’m really good at predicting things. During the campaign that had a hat—bestselling hat—’Trump was right about everything.’ And I don’t say that in a braggadocios way, but it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.”

Donald Trump: The Consummate Liar

I have said this multiple times on my blog, and I feature it in my book, Bible Predicts Trump Fall, that Donald Trump is the biggest liar I have ever seen in my lifetime. And folks, I’m not that much of a political person. I have never joined a political party. I have always been an independent voter. I have always voted in presidential elections. And when I did, ever since I became eligible to vote, I voted for a Republican for president until I voted for Democrat Barack Obama (and I’d do it again).

While Donald Trump was the U.S. president the first time, The New York Times, the best newspaper in the world (I’ve always been a newspaper guy), documented the number of lies that Trump made in his public speech throughout his first presidency, in 2017-2021. The total was over 30,000 lies, and it was by far the most of any previous president since the Times had been keeping track of such things.

What the Bible Says About Braggers and Liars

The basis of my Trump book and its title are wisdom sayings in the Bible (NRSV), especially in Proverbs and sayings of Jesus. Here are some of them:

“When pride comes, then comes disgrace” (Proverbs 11.2)

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16.18).

“A false witness will not go unpunished, and a liar will not escape” (Proverbs 19.5).

“Many who are first will be last, and the last will be first” (Jesus in Matthew 19.30).

“So the last will be first, and the first will be last” (Jesus in Matthew 20.16).
