Trump Didn’t Know What Iran Would Do
Donald Trump has just provided what may be the strongest evidence showing why he was never qualified to be president of the United States of America. Last week, he spoke in his typical and falsely absolutism style about his war of choice alongside Israel against Iran, which began 19 days ago. He said of Iran’s retaliation of striking facilities in neighboring Gulf nations and stopping shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, “Nobody expected Iran’s attacks on Qatar, the UAE, and other Gulf states. Nobody. No, no, no, no. The greatest experts—nobody thought they were going to hit.”
Trump Didn’t Know Iran Would Close the Strait
Not true! Zillions of people believed that would happen. Iran has even been saying that about the Strait of Hormuz for decades. Did the meetings that these folks had in the Oval Office never include such discussion about Iran attacking its neighbors? (Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona, a war pilot, an astronaut, and a member of the important Senate Armed Services Committee, says Pete Hegseth, who Trump placed, is the most incompetent Secretary of Defense in the 250-year history of the USA.) And it is being reported that when Trump, Hegseth, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the possibility of Iran shutting the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, Trump responded by declaring assuredly that the militaries of Israel and the U.S. would be so overwhelming in their bombing campaign of Iran that their armed forces would be incapable of closing the Strait. But that would not be a very difficult thing to do.
Donald Trump Pays No Attention to Details
Donald Trump eschews details. It seems to be due to his inability to concentrate on something for more than a few minutes. He reportedly does not read books.
Because of this, President Trump reportedly refuses to read the intelligence report that the Director of National Intelligence furnishes every president every morning at the Oval Office. Those DNI reports about attacking Iran reportedly starting back at least in April last year, informing the president that if the U.S. attacked Iran, that nation likely would close the Strait of Hormuz to especially oil tankers and likely attack Gulf states that harbor U.S. military bases.
Why was the DNI trying to inform the president about the outcome of a U.S. attack on Iran. Joe Kent, a top aide to U.S. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard and head of the National Counterterrorism Center, resigned yesterday over the Trump administration’s war in Iran, citing a lack of an “imminent threat.” That means U.S. Intelligence says Iran is a long way off from having a nuclear bomb and the means to deliver it.
Kent Says Israel Pressured Trump to Attack Iran
Kent also divulged that Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the powerful Israeli lobbying group AIPAC had strongly been pressuring President Trump, ever since he returned to the White House early last year, to join Israel in attacking Iran. Kent also alleged that Netanyahu was trying to persuade Trump that it would easily be a successful mission.
Netanyahu has been becoming more hawkish about Israel especially in its Gaza war partly because he has two ultra-right wing ministers in his cabinet who advocate that Israel expel Palestinians from their lands, annex them to Israel, and go to war with its neighbors in an effort to create Greater Israel. This takeover attitude makes the Middle East even more of a tinder box ready to explode.
Well Known Iran Would Close the Strait If Attacked
Back to Iran, for anyone who reads up on international affairs, Iran’s theocratic Sunni Islam regime has for decades been declaring that no nation should attack Iran because its ace-in-the-hole is to throw the world into economic recession by closing the narrow Straight of Hormuz that borders on western Iran by means of laying mines and multiple other methods. Donald Trump is unqualified to be president if he didn’t know about this threat. I’ve known about it for many decades, and I’m no intelligence expert!
As soon as Donald Trump became president, in early 2017, I began blogging about the constant evidence that was emerging from him showing he was incapable of undertaking the toughest and most important job in the world—the U.S. presidency. For the next four years, I blogged consistently about this, about 350 times I’m embarrassed to admit. In several posts I alleged that Trump does not believe in our democratic form of government because he is a classic narcissist who wants to be a dictator. And I often quoted wisdom literature from the Bible, including sayings of Jesus, that indicated Trump would have a disastrous and humiliating presidency. I then put much of it in a book, titled it Bible Predicts Trump Fall, and published it on February 18, 2022. That was thirty days after Trump exited the White House and had an unprecedented second impeachment by the House of Representatives.
Senator King’s Questioning of DNI Gabbard
Today, DNI Gabbard appeared at a Senate hearing for questioning about the Iran war. Senator Angus King asked her, “Does the president take a daily brief from the intelligence community?” After a long silence from Gabbard, King added, “This is a yes or no question.” She did not answer the question, indicating that Trump as reported does refuses these briefs. That in itself should make Congress impeach the man! And Trump is always boasting about how he protects Americans as president, proclaiming such mottos as America First and Make American Great Again (MAGA).
King then said to Gabbard that the U.S. Intelligence Community has been reporting over the years that Iran would retaliate if attacked by both attacking its neighbors and closing the Strait of Hormuz. King then added, “Yet the president says nobody knew. And my question is, did you tell him?” No answer. She said, “The Department of War and the Department of State took measures for force protection.”
King then asked, “Any predictions to the president about the Strait of Hormuz? All you gotta do is look at a map and you’ll see the vulnerability of the Strait of Hormuz. Was that part of the briefing Director Gabbard?”
She again refused to answer the question, merely saying the IC knew of that possibility.
King asked it again, “My question is, was that communicated to the president in the lead up to this action?”
She repeated her previous answer.
King then said, “They’ve stated that they did not plan for the Strait of Hormuz. The president said [Monday], ‘Who knew that was gonna happen?'”
CNN reported Sunday that the Pentagon had severely underestimated the negative impacts of blockading the Strait of Hormuz even though that possible event had been “a bedrock principle of U.S. national security policy for decades.” Well, of course, the Pentagon is less competent now because President Donald Trump got incompetent Pete Hegseth as his Secretary of Defense and fired lots of good people at the Pentagon, including generals. Trump’s modus operandi has been to put his sycophants in places of power so that Trump the narcissist could completely control everything. More evidence that Trump was never qualified to be president.
