Eavesdrop on Four Catholic Bloggers Getting “Real” about the Challenges and Blessings of Lent

Eavesdrop on Four Catholic Bloggers Getting “Real” about the Challenges and Blessings of Lent March 1, 2015

In case you missed it, I wanted to share this very fun video of the recent “Hangout” hosted by Catholic Relief Services and CRS Rice Bowl. The event featured some of my favorite online friends: Lisa Schmidt, Jared Dees, Sarah Reinhard and me. Our conversation related to how Lent is celebrated in each of our homes. We shared the good, the bad and even the “slacking”!

If you find your commitment to making this Lenten season special and spiritually fulfilling for yourself and your family, I urge you to take some time and enjoy this conversation. I think you’ll agree that many good ideas are shared. I hope you’ll find yourself feeling “affirmed” that Lent in your Domestic Church is not about crafts or what everyone else is doing, but about helping our families grow closer to Jesus Christ, to those in need, and to one another during the forty days of this season.

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting the Hangout video. Just watched it getting preparing for classes tomorrow. I have been distributing the Rice Bowls to my catechism classes and asked the children to pray the Lenten Prayer on the side each day. Also using the rice bowls and materials from CRS online to talk to them about almsgiving and having concern for the poor. Enjoyed not only seeing you bloggers that I follow live, but Eric Clayton grew up in my parish so I was a bit astonished to recognize him as the video started.

I totally should have mentioned Eric, who put this whole thing together!! He is such a great guy. CRS is blessed to have him on their team!
