The Master

The Master January 28, 2024

Somewhere along the way I have turned into the old woman that you see who wears certain things, like slips and pantyhose. She says certain things like, “Hey baby, make sure you have a coat on when you go outside.” I have become that. LOL. Something else I often question is, what we’re going to do with all of this technology and all of this access we have now. We are exposed to so much and most of the time it’s right at our fingertips, on these devices that we can’t seem to function without.

Nowadays we follow influencers; we follow YouTube channels; we follow social media accounts. My prayer is that we don’t forget to follow The One who’s in control of it all. We must first and foremost follow The Master, The Savior of the world. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that it’s always the easiest thing to do. Unfortunately, sometimes it’s unpopular. Unfortunately, sometimes it makes you an outcast. Unfortunately, sometimes the decision to follow Him makes others uncomfortable with you. Certain environments bring temptations, distractions, and noise.

At times it can feel like you’re surrounded by enemies and obstacles, and that God is far away. But don’t despair, be still and know Jesus is still your Master and Savior. He has a plan for you.

Here are a few Tee’s Tips on how to stay faithful and fruitful right where you are.

1. Remember who you are and whose you are.

You are not defined by your zip code, your job, your bank account, or your social media followers. You are a child of God, bought with a price, and sealed with the Holy Spirit. You belong to Jesus, and He loves you more than you can imagine. He died for you, rose for you, and is coming back for you. No matter what the world says or does, you have a secure identity and destiny in Christ. Our brother Paul tells us in Romans that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

2. Seek God’s Kingdom first.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” This means that we should seek God’s glory in every area of our lives, and in every part of our society. We should not conform to the patterns of this world. We should not chase after the things the world values. We should be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We should seek the things that God values. We should not be ashamed of the gospel, but be bold witnesses for Jesus.

3. Stay connected to the vine.

Jesus said in John, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” This means that we need to abide in Jesus, and let him abide in us. We need to cultivate a personal relationship with him, through prayer, worship, meditation, and obedience. We must feed on His Word, and let it nourish our souls. When we depend on His grace, it empowers our lives. We get to enjoy His presence, and let it fill us with joy.
