Life More Abundantly

Life More Abundantly February 4, 2024

Today, I want to talk to you about this thing called life more abundantly. You know, the kind of life that Jesus promised us in John 10:10, when He said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” But what does that mean, exactly? And how do we get it?

Well, let me tell you, it’s not about having more money, more fame, more fun, or more stuff. Trust me, I’ve tried all of that, and it didn’t satisfy me. It didn’t fill the void in my soul. It didn’t give me peace, joy, or love. It only gave me more problems, more stress, and more emptiness.

I grew up in Southeast DC. Washington DC, the nation’s capital and a real danger zone. Even though comnecting with certain friends and teachers put me in a bubble, life was not easy. Getting out was the goal. My father was nowhere to be found, but Ma Dukes did her best to raise me right. She took me to church every Sunday, and taught me to pray and read the Bible. I loved God, and I wanted to please Him. But I also wanted to fit in, to have fun, and to make money. I wanted to have it all.

So I started living a double life. I was a church girl on Sundays, and a party girl on Saturdays. I was a saint in the morning, and a sinner at night. I was a follower of Jesus, and a friend of the world. I was confused, conflicted, and compromised. I didn’t know who I was, or whose I was really.

But God knew. He knew me before I was born, and He had a plan for me. He loved me, and He pursued me. He sent people into my life who showed me His grace and truth. They challenged me, they mentored me, they discipled me. They helped me to see that I couldn’t serve two masters, that I had to make a choice. A choice to follow Jesus, or to follow the world. A choice to live for myself, or to live for Him. A choice to live life more abundantly, or to live life less than.

And I chose Jesus. I chose to yield my life to Him, to let Him be my Lord and Savior. I chose to receive His forgiveness, His salvation, His transformation. I chose to accept His love, His joy, His peace. I chose to discover His purpose, His plan, His destiny for me. I chose to find my true identity in Him.

And let me tell you, it was the best decision I ever made. Hallelujah!! Ever since I gave my life to Jesus, He has been blessing me, changing me, and using me. He has given me a new heart, a new mind, a new spirit. He has given me a new family, a new community, a new ministry. He has given me a new mission, a new vision, a new passion. He has given me a new life. A life more abundantly.

And He wants to do the same for you. He wants you to know Him, to love Him, to serve Him. He wants you to experience His power, His presence, His promises. He wants you to enjoy His goodness, His grace, His glory. He wants you to live life more abundantly.

So, what are you waiting for? Are you ready to make the choice? Are you ready to follow Jesus for really? Are you ready to fully yield your heart and nind? Are you ready to live life more abundantly? If you are, then let me know in the comments below. I would love to hear from you, to pray for you, to celebrate with you. And if you’re not, then let me know too. I would love to talk to you, maybe answer some questions, and share my testimony. Either way, I’m here for you. I care about you. God cares about you.

I hope sharing this blessed you, encouraged you, and challenged you. If it did, please share it with your friends, family, and followers.
