Today, September 13th, is the 2 year anniversary of when I wrote my first ever blog. Here is the first blog post I ever wrote. And for the record, because of that post we were able to give a $250 donation to their non-profit that clothed and fed parent-less Iraqi children because of the war. Here we are 2 years later and the following are some fun statistics that have accumulated over the last 730 days since my first ever... Read more

I believe it was to force everyone to think for themselves and learn what it means to implement their faith through God’s eternal Kingdom Principles, in their own situations in real time as life uniquely happens. God could have made the Bible a million page rule book filled only with yes/no answers to all of life’s questions, situations, circumstances and experiences so that we would never have to think for ourselves in how we are to apply our faith in our... Read more

Matthew 27:63-66 Even when the truth is made public, it’s easier to believe a rumored conspiracy theory that can be spread like wildfire. Just recently I was studying the Bible for My One Sentence Bible, and I came across Matthew 10:11-11:7. In this passage Jesus is giving instructions to his disciples on how to live a faithful life with critics, haters and oppressors all around. I was shocked, and moved by Jesus’ commands (no, I don’t know why I still get shocked by being shocked by Jesus…). Over the next couple weeks or so I will relate to you the lessons I learned... Read more

What is My One Sentence Bible? 9-7-10: Be aware that when you’re filled with rage you say and do things you’ll regret for generations to come. Matthew 27:25 The evil that is done in private will eventually be made known one way or another. Matthew 27:27-31 Even at your lowest moment those who oppose you will get in one last shot. Dr. Robert Gagnon (who wrote this book and this book), Associate Professor of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, just published a 24 PAGE critique of me, my work, my book and everyone who is associated with me. Here is the introduction to his critique (italics are mine): “Andrew Marin’s book, Love is an Orientation: Elevating the Conversation with the Gay Community (2009) has been gaining some traction in evangelical circles. Having just finished reading the book I am stunned that an evangelical press... Read more
