Game of Thrones Open Thread

Those of you still watching Game of Thrones may have noticed that season 6 has been quite a change from season 5 in its treatment of the its female characters. There was much talk last year of the show’s frequent portrayals of rape, among other things, but this season the show’s female characters have come into their own in new ways, exercising their agency and retaking their narratives. I’ve even seen some suggest that the show should be called the battle of the five queens.

With this in mind, I thought some of my readers might be interested in a Game of Thrones discussion thread! What are you liking about this season? What are you less pleased with? What is Daenerys going to do with her new army? Will Sansa be able to rally her banner men and retake the north? Will Margaery be successful in the new game she’s playing? Will Cersei be able to prevent the up-and-coming generation from making her obsolete? Where is Yara going to go now that she’s had to flee her homeland? What is Arya going to do next, and Bran?
