Turns out that if you are willing to lie through your teeth about torture and war crimes, chances are good you will lie about more minor infringements on the common good as well:

Note the last 13 words. What they mean is that powers gained by the Bush Adminstration under the influence of Unitary Executive mania will be tut-tutted by the Obama Adminstration–and retained.
The modern megastate is a roach motel. Rights go in, but they don’t come back out again. That’s why I was amazed by the folly of alleged “conservatives” who were quite willing to embrace salvation through Leviathan by any means necessary. And incredibly chicken-hearted capitulation. And *now* they have their undies in a bunch and are worried about giving the State too much power.
