Still playing catch up

which is much less fun that playing with ketchup. Result: not much blogging today.

However, I will tell you this: one of the loveliest things you can possibly do is spend the evening of Sunday, July 25, 2010 laying a blanket out under the stars with family and friends in the back yard of house somewhere in Western Washington. All you need is a bottle of wine and some plastic cups. Nothing fancy. One of the great evenings of my life.

Washington, if you don’t happen to know it, is the most beautiful place on planet Earth on a warm July evening. We live in the region of the summer stars. If you want to know what I’m thinking about today, it’s not the headlines and the daily yahyah of the news. It’s that.

So much of life is an interruption and an intrusion into what we were made for.
