Now and then I read about some dumb draconian bureaucrat who issues an edict that nobody can pray or sing “God bless America” before a football–and who is simply drowned out by spontaneous mass recitation of the Lord’s Prayer or singing “God bless America” by the crowd of normal healthy sane people in the audience while he stamps his tiny foot in impotent rage.

I hope normal healthy citizens of that beautiful ballsy town of New York just ignore Bloomberg’s stupid Sanitized for Their Protection 9/11 event and meet over at St. Patrick’s for a real Memorial Service that allows people to do what normal people do: honor heroes, grieve, and hand their dead over to the care of God. Let it feature clergy from every major tradition represented by the population of New York (yes, including Muslims, dozens of whom were killed in the Towers). Either that, or may the crowd that assembles spontaneously begin singing–loudly–the St. Francis prayer or “Dona Nobis Pacem” while Bloomberg drones on. That Fr. Mychal Judge and the doomed heroes he blessed are not welcome at this “Memorial” says everything that needs to be said about the evil of the secularist attempt to make a desert and call it peace. I hope Bloomberg re-election bid goes down in flames.
