CMU Dinner Talk: Mark Shea

Monday, October 24, 2011 5:30 PM

Stever Hall Dining Room

“Drama and the Sacred”. Theatre, broadly considered, has a sacred character, in virtue both of its origins as well as its purpose. Religion likewise of its nature tends to the dramatic. They are related as well as distinct from the perspective of their subject, which is the human “person”, which is to say, the human “mask”. Come for a fascinating and enlightening evening, and bring a friend! A light dinner will be served in conjunction with the event. Mark Shea is an accomplished Catholic writer and sometime actor with a flair for witty turns; he blogs at “Catholic and Enjoying It!”  Contact [email protected] for more details.

While I have a minute, I thought I’d post a few things. F’rinstance, a reader writes:

I recently launched Anytime Evangelize, a “blog” of sorts geared toward serving as a community of Catholics coming together to document, comment upon and learn from various experiences they have in evangelizing (particularly with regard to the “new evangelization”). So, it’s a blog, but one where *any* Catholic can post at (provided they sign up). I don’t have any members yet (save for one honorary member, also known as my wife), but I think that if I just get one or two to sign up, this thing could really take off. As I mention in the FAQ section, the hope is that hearing and seeing fellow Catholics in action spreading the Faith will only encourage and inspire Catholics who aren’t to do likewise. Little by little, we can get back into the general discourse (and maybe even talk about something other than the sex-abuse scandal).

Check thou it out!
