Prayer Requests

Prayer Requests May 1, 2012

Daniel Nichols and his family could use our prayers. Both his mother and mother-in-law have died.

Father, grant eternal light, rest, and peace to these women and grant grace, consolation and peace to Daniel and his wife and family, through Christ our Lord. Amen. Mother Mary, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Another reader writes:

Sebastian passed into Heaven’s embrace before he was born. He is now buried next to his brother Blaise. Pray for the comfort of his parents and siblings.

Mason was born a few weeks ago. He only has one kidney that may function, and the doctors aren’t entirely sure whether it will work or not. He’s currently on dialysis and will likely have a kidney transplant after his first year. Despite this, he seems to be doing well. Please pray for his continued health.

And on another note, please pray for my wife. She will need a kidney transplant herself within the next year. Pray that a matching donor can be found soon.

Father, grant eternal rest to Sebastian and give complete healing to Mason and my reader’s wife. Give skill, wisdom and compassion to their caregivers and peace and consolation to all who love them. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A reader asks prayer “for the wife of a dear friend who was instrumental in bringing me and my wife into the Church – they have, I think, 10 kids, the youngest is 2. His wife has just had a mastectomy for breast cancer, a type which is pronounced by the doctor ‘very aggressive.'”

Father, hear our prayer for a miracle of healing for this woman and for her family that they may have peace and strength in the Holy Spirit in this trial. Mother Mary, St. Gianna Molla, St. Luke and St. Peregine, pray for her. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Finally, a reader asks prayer

–for a friend who’s been badly hurt in her past, has a number of health issues, and who is in the midst of trying to move out with very little plan;

–for a friend in the midst of difficulties with her health, her boss, and her work situation;

–for three radical traditionalists, that they may have healing and come to know and love the Church and the Holy Father;

–for a friend who delved pretty deeply into the occult;

–for a friend who entered the Church a while ago but still has a number of attachments to Eastern and New Age religious practices that are refusing to go away;

–for a friend who has had so much pain in his life that he’s lost his faith;

–for a friend who’s gone deeply into all things left and gay, that he at least rediscover his former faith and the love and mercy of God;

–for a friend who’s a convert to Catholicism from atheism and Protestantism, but for whom the Church is truly, ongoingly a cross;

–for a number of family members who have left the faith behind;

–for a friend who struggles with the faith;

–for my own move, job search/vocation discernment/trying to follow the guiding of God, and sanctification.

Father, hear and answer all these prayers through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary, intercede on behalf of all these people so that God’s Name be glorified.
