Prayer Request

Prayer Request January 26, 2013

A reader writes:

Today was the March for Life in DC and today was also the day that I learned someone a little too close for comfort is thinking about an abortion. I’m devastated. I’m upset for the possible loss of an innocent, and I’m upset for her. She’s really wrestling with the decision but I’m afraid she’s going to rush into it because she doesn’t want an in depth procedure. Please pray. It feels so empty to ask, since pro life-ers everywhere are praying for life today, including myself before I received this news, but I’ve been shaking for an hour, and it hurts so very deeply, I can’t describe it. It is so real suddenly- what we have been praying for, and wanting. I worked for a crisis pregnancy center; I’ve talked to abortion determined young women before, but it’s never hit me like this. I want to take her into my home and hug her, and care for her, and tell her it will be okay- I want to get her through a pregnancy and let her decide if she wants to go through with an adoption- I want to love this child- and if she wants to be involved, awesome, if not, that’s fine- or help her raise him or her.

I don’t know, I’m sorry, I’m rambling, but I needed to tell someone who I know would pray.

Thank you so much. Keep writing, keep praying, keep fighting- your blog is always a source of great affirmation and conviction for us!

Father, send your Spirit upon the woman contemplating abortion and free her from fear.  Give her the hope that this pregnancy is a chance for joy and give her the love, support, strength and courage to choose life for her child.  Give your servant the grace, hope, confidence and encouragement that she might give it to her friend and her child.  Save this woman and her baby.  Mother Mary, pray for them.  We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

By the way, please pray for a family of our acquaintance whose father is contemplating divorce.  Thanks, troops!
