Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Prayer Requests and Praise Reports June 5, 2013

For the good people of Los Alamos who are endangered by wildfires, that they would be protected and fires brought under control without harming anyone.  We ask that, Father, through your Son Jesus Christ. Mother Mary, pray for them!

Also a reader writes:

I want to offer my gratitude for the prayers of you and your readers over the past three years as we have fought for our adoption.  We have been to Haiti and returned with our son.  Our whole family was together for the first time today.

Thank you for all your assistance, prayers and support.

Thanks be to God our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Mother Mary and Holy Innocents, pray for them!

Another reader writes:

I ask for prayers for my mother who is 91 and in a nursing home.  She has a tumor on her pancreas and is jaundiced and losing a lot of weight.  I suspect it’s cancer, but she cannot have surgery.  Please pray that her last days be free from pain.  She has received the last sacraments.

Father, we ask that you would help her to be free of pain and to prepare for her death, that it may be a happy one in Jesus Christ.  Grant grace, compassion, skill, knowledge, understanding and wisdom to her caretakers.  And give grace, peace, faith, hope, love and strength to her and all who love her.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Peregrine, pray for all concerned.

Another reader writes:

Here is what is going on with the friends for whom I requested prayer:

My friend who underwent surgery for lung cancer and had to be put into medically induced sleep after is now allowed a “sedation vacation” and is responding by blinking, squeezing hands, and wiggling toes in response to questions.  Is still receiving dialysis as his kidneys shut down after the operation.  He still needs a lot of prayer but the doctors say he is making baby steps in the right direction.

My friend’s mom cannot have an operation for pancreatic cancer. They will go to palliative care.  She and her family all need a lot of prayer.  They’ve been talking about how they will face the possible futures depending on what the MRI showed.

Thanks for prayers already prayed and requests for more prayer.

Father, hear our prayer for this man’s complete healing and for his caregivers and all who love him.  Also, hear our prayer for this woman that the best care and treatment possible can be given her.  We ask all this through your Son Jesus Christ.  Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for them!

Finally, a reader writes:

I’ve been praying a lot lately for my grandson, Sam, who I’ve written to you previously about.  He relapsed in his leukemia last month, and the doctors were baffled as to the reason.  It took a month to sort it out, and now he is being transferred to the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda.  We continue to pray for him, and hope they can get him back into remission so that he can have a bone-marrow transplant..  He has maintained a good spirit through-out this time in spite of intense pain.

Father, hear our prayer for Sam’s complete healing and for relief from the pain.  Give his body the grace to fight off this disease and give him complete healing, in body, soul and spirit.  Grant grace, knowledge, compassion, skill and understanding to his caregivers and grace, peace, faith, hope, love and strength to him and all who love him.  We ask this through your Son Jesus Christ.  Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, pray for them all.
