Prayer Request

Prayer Request July 5, 2013

A reader facing a thousand dollar medical bill asks for prayer that their family be able to meet the bill.

Father, we ask your provision for this family’s medical needs and your complete healing for your daughter.  We ask this through Christ crucified and risen.  Mother Mary, St. Joseph, and St. Luke, pray for her and her family.

I will pray for all involved.

Is there somewhere to send money?

I’m already praying for god to heal the whole world. Specifying one particular person in one particular place seems wasteful.

Now I understand how prayer can work:

a particular prayer in a particular church

in a particular style with a particular stuff

and a particular book for particular problems

    that aren’t particularly tough,

and for particular people, preferably white,

for particular senses, preferably sight –

a particular prayer in a particular spot,

to a particular version of a particular god.

And if you get that right, He just might take a break from giving babies
malaria and pop down to your local area to fix the cataracts of your
    mum!

I offer my prayers through the intercession of The Unmercenary Physicians.

That’s how prayers are answered. Through the actions of people, not gods.
