Prayer Request 2014-12-29T00:18:34-07:00

A reader writes:

My grandmother has been diagnosed with stage zero breast cancer. She’s having surgery on Wednesday to remove the cells. The doctors think it will be a fairly routine operation, which should be successful. However, the operation would normally be followed by radiation just in case the cancer spread. Given my grandma’s age, the doctors are debating whether radiation would be the best course of treatment. Please pray the surgery goes smoothly, the cancer is eradicated, and to give the doctors wisdom.

Father, hear our prayer through your Son Jesus Christ for her complete healing in body, soul, and spirit. Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Peregrine, pray for her, her caregivers, and all who love her.

Can you please ask your readers to pray for a friend’s younger sister, who suffered a severe concussion last month and is on a long road to recovery? Prayers for her family, too, especially her mother, are very much appreciated. Thank you.

Father, hear our prayer for her complete healing in body, soul, and spirit. Give her caregivers grace, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, skill and the proper technology to assist in her complete healing. Give her and all who love her grace, peace, strength, consolation, faith, hope, and love. Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St Dymphna, pray for them. We ask this through your Son Jesus Christ.

Another reader writes:

I am asking for prayers for an improvement in my health. I appear to have a usually benign (if caught early) tumor. But I have been chasing diagnosis for two years. The major university hospital I was referred to chided me for ‘not being a better supplicant in my health matters’. I think most doctors in Ivory Tower places think that specialists look at the whole person which is not the case. According to my new primary care, most of these physicians must have thought I was just going through menopause, and they always referred me further on up the chain. In fact I had a hysterectomy 23 years ago…but this rare cancer mimics menopause, which is why it is usually diagnosed post-mortem in women, but men get cured swiftly.
Please pray that someone will help me. I’m now in a wheelchair when we leave the house which is only to see doctors, unable to eat, on oxygen and have a mediport for daily fluids to keep me out of the ER. My husband (now an atheist) often encourages me to commit suicide. I know this is a spiritual battle, but he has lost hope, and though I have accepted that I will never get better, I try not to fall into despair. This type of cancer cannot be treated by just anyone and requires genetic testing etc. Survival if caught early can be 15 years, but if not surgically treated, it metastasizes into malignancy quickly, and I’ve already been symptomatic for three years now. Survival rate if not caught is three years.
We are six weeks out from appt. #1. Please pray for me. Pray that I will effectively offer up my suffering for the conversion of my sons and husband.

Father, help my reader cut through the red tape, get the treatment she needs, and find complete healing in body, soul, and spirit. Give her the grace to join her sufferings to Christ crucified. Give her caregivers grace, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, skill and the proper technology to assist in her complete healing. Give her and all who love her grace, peace, strength, consolation, faith, hope, and love. Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St Peregrine, pray for them. We ask this through your Son Jesus Christ.
