Prayer Requests May 8, 2014

Beth’s Uncle Jimmy has been fighting mesothelioma for a few years now. He underwent an experimental surgery and treatment at the University of Pennsylvania almost two years ago. The results were stunning, so much so that the doctors have asked him to attend several conferences where the results (and Uncle Jimmy) were presented.

Unfortunately Uncle Jimmy has now developed leukemia. He’s undergoing a bone marrow transplant today (God bless the 36-year-old man who entered his name in the national registry and provided the marrow two days ago) and is having a rough time of it. The prep has been brutal as the doctors knock down his immune system, wiping out all of his own marrow first, before he receives the transplant this afternoon. The recovery will be slow and painful, but we are hopeful. Uncle Jimmy is very devoted to our Lord and His Blessed Mother.

Father, hear our prayer for a successful surgery and course of treat. Give Jimmy complete healing in body, soul, and spirit and give his caregivers grace, compassion, knowledge, wisdom, counsel, skill, and the proper technology to assist in his complete healing. Grant him and all who love him grace, peace, strength, consolation, faith, hope, and love. Let all be done to the glory of your Name. Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Peregrine, pray for them. We ask all this in the Name of your Son Jesus Christ.

Please ask your readers to continue to pray for this kid and his family–you initially posted the link (which is how I found out about them) in February or March–

God has already been so good in that this child was given weeks to live and it’s been months. But he and his family–especially his parents–are struggling mightily as the road gets harder. Let’s storm Heaven.

Father, grant this boy a miracle of healing or, if it is not your will, then grant him the grace of a happy death and his parents and all who love him grace, peace, strength, consolation, faith, hope, and love. Let all be done to the glory of your Name. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for them. We ask all this in the Name of your Son Jesus Christ.
