A chance to do a work of mercy

A chance to do a work of mercy January 16, 2015

A reader writes:

I’m writing on behalf of an acquaintance Christiana Achebe, who has been part of my alma mater Franciscan University of Steubenville community for over 20 years. She is now urgently trying to raise funds to help her sister and family in Nigeria. The Boko Haram is closing in on their area and they need to flee to a safer area in Lagos, but they lack the resources. This is urgent for them, as there have been increasing murders close by.

At present they are short about $2200 needed by Friday to secure safe passage. Money is being collected via PayPal by fellow alumnus Shaun McKeegan to facilitate getting the funds to them as soon as possible by wire transfer on Friday.

If you would be willing to help this family but are unable to use pay pal, please email Shaun. This also is the address to send PayPal donations.

Please pray for this woman–Pauline Okonkwo–and her family, including 13 yr old twins, Michael and Gabriel, and also the Catholic priests there who are staying.

Thank you all for your prayers and any assistance you may be able to offer this family.

Father, hear our prayer for this family and deliver them from all harm to the glory of your Name through our Lord Jesus Christ. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them.
