I stopped identifying myself as a moderate democrat about 5 years ago as I saw how the democrats had no time for anyone in the pro-life movement or for true religious freedom. People like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh kept me from embracing conservatism for years… and occasionally their anti-semitic and nativist rants still make me want to shake the dust off of my feet and give up on politics entirely. Thankfully there are a few like P.J. O’Rourke who can remind me that its possible to be conservative and to critique its weaknesses.
