John Zmirak recently delivered himself of this ipse dixit to any potential convert to the faith who does not meet his stringent criteria for Truly True Catholicism:

When the Cult says “George Soros” they mean “International Jewish Banker”. He is the Authoritarian Right’s (and the Reactionary Catholic’s) Jewish bogeyman for this generation, mysteriously funding stuff like this:
(Funny thing: The Legend of the Soros-funded Protester is an Established Fact in the mind of the Trump Cult where accusation is always a confession of their own deepest desires and plans. There is no evidence for the Legend. But there is evidence that the GOP has done it.)
In the Fever Swamp, Soros is a one man International Jewish Conspiracy who is both a Jew and a Nazi, a Zionist and an enemy of Israel, a Communist and a Capitalist, a Neo-Nazi and Antifa, simultaneously controlling the US government and fleeing in fear from the Righteous Might of Trump and the GOP Senate. I can’t tell you how many times the whackadoodle conspiracy theorists have informed me that I and anybody else they hate (especially Jewish Catholics like (((Simcha Fisher))), (((Rebecca Bratten Weiss))), (((Dawn Eden Goldstein))) and (((Jenn Morson)))) are secretly on the “Soros payroll” as the explanation for one of us saying something the conspiracy theorist dislikes. Austin Ruse’ ridiculous dogwhistling on this a while back is typical of the Jew-baiting methods of those who invoke this bogeyman.
Here’s the actual and rather dull reality about Soros:
I don’t hold any particular brief for Soros. My impression is Leib’s: pretty good for a billionaire. But he remains a billionaire, which is dangerous to the human soul. Beyond that, I don’t care what he does with his money. It’s a free country.
But I do hold a brief for truthfulness, something the MAGA Cult chose to sacrifice a long time ago when people like John Zmirak committed self-described Real Christians[TM] to the proposition of the Noble Lie for the Greater Good and then went on to commit them to the Ignoble Lie for the Power and Glory of the Liar in Chief. The pedigree of anti-semitism and the figure of the Shadowy Jew Puppetmaster is a long and dark one in history of Christians and is to be called out as the evil it is when it rears its head.
We cannot truly call on God, the Father of all, if we refuse to treat in a brotherly way any man, created as he is in the image of God. Man’s relation to God the Father and his relation to men his brothers are so linked together that Scripture says: “He who does not love does not know God” (1 John 4:8).
No foundation therefore remains for any theory or practice that leads to discrimination between man and man or people and people, so far as their human dignity and the rights flowing from it are concerned.
The Church reproves, as foreign to the mind of Christ, any discrimination against men or harassment of them because of their race, color, condition of life, or religion. On the contrary, following in the footsteps of the holy Apostles Peter and Paul, this sacred synod ardently implores the Christian faithful to “maintain good fellowship among the nations” (1 Peter 2:12), and, if possible, to live for their part in peace with all men,(14) so that they may truly be sons of the Father who is in heaven.
It is founded on a torrent of transparently self-contradictory lies by a theopolitical cult who have been so wrong about so much so many times for so long that only a fool would trust their judgment. And their torrent of contradictions inexorably reminds me of Chesterton’s remark:
“If you hear a thing being accused of being too tall and too short, too red and too green, too bad in one way and too bad also in the opposite way, then you may be sure that it is very good.”
That this does not even give the Cult pause in its torrent of vitriol against the man only demonstrates again how much pride has eaten its brains.
If you are a convert repelled by the thought of a religion that damns you because you fail to hate somebody to the degree John Zmirak commands, if that religion is telling you there is something you have to do to “qualify” for the mercy and grace of God, and that its god does not “want” you unless you forsake extending charity to somebody, then may I suggest you avoid that religion like the deadly plague it is and come join the Catholic faith? The real one, I mean. Not the demented parody that anti-semitic Reactionary Catholics at war with the Holy Father, the Second Vatican Council and most of the rest of the Church have cocooned themselves into?
This Fasting Friday, let’s fast and do penance for the evil of Jew hatred that still infects far too many souls under cover of Truly True Catholic faith. It comes from hell, not Christ.
