A reader asks for prayer as he struggles to listen to the voice of the Shepherd and not to various voices of this world that throw him into confusion.
Father, hear his prayer and enliven in him the gifts of the Holy Spirit given in Confirmation that he could attend to the voice of Jesus and not to merely earthly voices, nor to the voices of spirits of confusion. Mother Mary, seat of Wisdom, pray for him. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen!

This has been making some headlines but there’s been a tragic death in the sailing community here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Andrew Simpson died when the America’s Cup sailboat he was training on capsized/broke apart. A prayer for God’s mercy and a speedy entry into heaven for his soul and comfort for his family and friends who are grief stricken would be greatly appreciated.
Father, hear our prayer for the repose of Andrew’s soul through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary, pray for him and all us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
