Now I Know what a “Papal Florilegium” is 2015-01-01T10:31:28-07:00

Eliot Bougis writes:

I am sending you a link to a “papal florilegium” (or list of quotations about the Roman Pope), which I compiled a couple years ago and have been updating or polishing now and then since that time. Keep in mind it only contains quotations from Eastern Fathers or canonical sources; the Western voices that could be added to this testimony would swell the florilegium to mammoth proportions.

Certainly, non-Catholics could, and often do, object to the mishandling (“out of context,” etc., etc.) of these quotations, but as I note in my prefatory comments, at a basic level the content still needs to be addressed on its own terms. I welcome constructive critcism, corrections, additions, etc.

Please feel free to forward the link to pastors, students, friends, authors, etc. you know, and/or printing out my post and distributing it as you like.

And now you know too!
