In his own curiously subversive way, Stephen Colbert continues his peculiar mission of late nite comedy catechesis

Poor Bart Ehrman is a classic (and tragic) example of what happens when an Evangelical goes to college and faces the inevitable choice between remaining Christian or Protestant. His skepticism has devolved into that random heckling thinks its a big deal that Matthew mentions “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani” and other gospels report other moments from the hours long ordeal of the crucifixion. Colbert really does pwn him on this stuff.

I hope the guy finds his way back to Christ, because he sure looks miserable in the prophet of biblical deconstructionism role he’s carved out for himself. He needs our pity and our prayers.
