For this week’s Twitter Week in Review, I sat down to get the post together and found that somehow the feed from the Facebook page was not connecting to Twitter. So, I cut and paste the last three items I shared on the Facebook page in full here. The rest is what I’ve shared through the week.
“I urge of you to be visible and not to be silent,” Mr. Awad said. “This is the take-home message: ‘Don’t be silent.’ If you see Islamophobia, stand up. Push back. You don’t have to be the imam. You don’t even have to be a Muslim. Push back. When you see some bad and negative and biased coverage, which is a lot, speak up and challenge stereotypes. Because when people hear you, when they see you, you are really lighting a candle in front of darkness.”
“More than 600 people attended the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo’s multifaith prayer service in Perrysburg on Sunday, non-Muslims alongside Islamic Center members, taking the opportunity to be together a week after the mosque was attacked by an arsonist.”
“It quotes Leviticus, the Tora: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. In the choice between love and hate, choose love. Help stop bigotry against our Muslim neighbors.'”http://wamu.org/news/12/10/10/anti_muslim_ads_in_metro_provoke_protests
