Marginalized communities have been vulnerable for a long time now, and Trump’s blatant legal propositions will kill at Muslim communities, Black people, undocumented folk, Indigenous people, etc. I encourage an aggressive approach to the American structures of xenophobia and anti-blackness by launching grassroots defense initiatives in mosques and historically Black churches. What needs to occur is for an unapologetic, anti-colonial political reduction within these spaces created by Black people and Muslims to combat police brutality and governmental violence. The purpose should be that we create self-sustaining communities that can demand America to acquiesce to our presence, rather than catering to a violent government.
