What do you have to give? In Acts 3, one short statement by Peter embodies what our attitude should be as believers.

1 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Acts 3:1-6

Peter and John didn’t have what the beggar wanted. The beggar wanted money. He wanted food. But that didn’t deter Peter and John. Because they had something. So Peter said “what I do have I give you.” Peter didn’t have everything, but he had something. He had Jesus.

You don’t have everything. You don’t have all the money you want, all the energy you want, or all the time that you want. But you have something to give. You have something to contribute. If you believe in Jesus, then his Spirit lives inside of you, then you have something to give. Peter gave what he had, and a life was forever changed.

What do you have to give? This isn’t just a hypothetical question. I firmly believe that there is a life in your circle of influence that can be positively impacted by you today, if you’re willing to give what you have.
