Am I the only one who does this?

Am I the only one who does this? December 23, 2009

So everyone knows what this picture is all about right?

Whenever I am eating any kind of colored or flavored candy (skittles, m&m;’s or jelly beans etc.) after I grab my handful I automatically count them into groups by color or flavor, then I eat the extra ones so there are even amounts of all of them, then I eat one of each candy individually until they are all gone.

So in this case I would eat a black one, a purple one and a yellow one. Then orange, purple, yellow, orange, purple, yellow. This is completely normal and rational right? Don’t most people automatically do this?

Most people except my husband that is, he thinks I’m crazy. It took him several years of married life to realize that if I was going to share my candy, he had to either eat the “extra’s” or take one of each color. Otherwise it would throw off my system. I have tried to explain it to him, but he just doesn’t get it. He just says I’m obsessive.

But I am not obsessive, I could eat candy out of order if I wanted to, I just don’t want to. And besides, I am not a very organized person, I don’t obsess about anything. In fact, this is the only kind of food that I sort before I eat.

Wait.

Except chips of course.

Because you have to separate the broken pieces from the whole ones, and you always eat the broken ones up first.

Because everyone does that.

Right?
