Quick Takes #4

Quick Takes #4

I was given an Award Challenge to do, so I am combining Quick Takes with the award from Four Blessings Academy. All I am required to do is list 7 things about myself and then tag 7 bloggers. So I hope you don’t mind more facts about me! And since I was up at midnight, I’m going to post this pre-written post in the wee hours of the morning.

1.
I love to read. I begged to be taught to read from 4 years old on, and was reading at a 12 grade level at age 12. I still read almost anything I can get my hands on, if my kids give me the chance. I would love to write book reviews, but I’ve read so many I wouldn’t know where to start, and if I ever get awarded something, I hope it is free books from amazon.com for life. And a place to store all the books of course.

2.
I love food, I love to make food, eat food, look for recipes, you name it. Hence my need for exercise.

3. I hate exercise. I am a pretty healthy person, but I could stand to lose a little weight, and gain a little muscle. I don’t have a goal to lose a certain amount of weight or anything (I don’t even own a scale) but I would love to get consistent enough in exercising that I get the health benefits.

4.
I can be absent minded. I always swore I would never be like my mom who seems to forget stuff, and I did fine until I had kids. Now it seems like I can’t remember anything. Well, I remember all the “meaningless” things, things that would make my husband lost without me, but everything that I’m supposed to remember, I forget.

5.
To illustrate the above problem. I was shopping at the Grocery store a few weeks ago and was trying to stuff 2 bunches of broccoli into one of those flimsy plastic bags and the bag burst into pieces. As I grabbed for the broccoli to keep it from hitting the floor I dropped my grocery list and my wallet with my entire months grocery budget in cash inside it. I picked the list and the wallet up and put them on top of the oranges while I forced the broccoli into another bag. I was grabbing 2 pounds of butter and a head of garlic cloves when it dawned on me that I had left the list and my wallet on the other end of produce. I managed to keep my scream of panic inside and ran back to see if it was still there. Thankfully it was, but can you imagine if I had gotten up to the checkout and realized my cash was gone?! Aaaaugh!!

6.
I love to write and will usually end up saying much more than I would in person. I am actually kind of quiet and introverted in person.

7.
I have to watch my tongue. I have a tendency to be quite frank in the way I way things. Having married a man who can tell me when something came out sounding harsher than it was intended has helped me greatly. But it is still one of my faults. I’m also good at being sarcastic, but I’ve discovered not everyone find that amusing.

So. That is definitely enough about me for a while! I guess I am supposed to pick some people to pass the challenge on to now.
